It certainly is possible to be a good design engineer sitting only behind a desk.
However, we believe that it is important to get involved in making stuff, as that cements the understanding of engineering. For that, we have a small, but well equipped workshop with some specialised mechanical and electronic tools and machinery.
Products developed by Koos Uys includes:
- An industrial Biltong Drier based on the refrigeration principal, with heat recovery and drying at a constant 18°C.
- Many custom designed electronic controllers.
- A continuous flow pyrolysis plant for upcycling plastic and waste oil.
- Self balancing air grilles / dampers
Many of these products are developed for inhouse use, but so are others developed for clients.
We will gladly assist with product development, as long as the client understands the challenges and flexible budgets required for R&D.
